Buxton Building Contractors Limited is delighted to have been awarded principal contractor for the refurbishment of two Grade II listed terraces in Belgravia.
The project includes both interior and exterior renovations, to establish a modern office setting. This involves facade repairs, new windows and repairs, a complete M&E fit-out, specialist joinery and doors, fibrous plastering, a new ornate feature staircase, wood block flooring and lifts.
The building, originating from 1868 showcases French Renaissance architecture. Originally apartments, it features an impressive facade, Corinthian porches, and a unique slate mansard roof.
The project merges two Grade II listed Victorian townhouses in Belgravia into a unified workspace, designed to break away from conventional office settings by offering a mix of functional entertainment areas on the lower ground floor and open work-meet spaces on the upper floors. Central to its design philosophy is the creation of unique and interesting spaces that encourage productivity and collaboration. This is achieved through a thoughtful interior design that pays homage to the buildings' historic character while incorporating vibrant fabrics, lively wallpaper, and a mix of vintage and contemporary furniture, crafting an inviting and innovative work environment.
