Social Value in Action: Supporting Local Students at The Grove

At Buxton Building Contractors, we take pride in our commitment to social value and community engagement.

As part of our work at The Grove in Carshalton, a project transforming a historic former rectory into 10 homes for Sutton Living, we recently welcomed students from the Sutton District Training Centre.

With centres next door to The Grove Contract site and in Rosehill. We had a mix of Level 1 plumbers and general multi-trade students visit us on site. Once the site visit was completed, Colin Moorcroft gave an introductory presentation on Onsite Safety and Environmental Safety.

We will be scheduling further visits as the job progresses, to give the students a feel and further understanding of what awaits them on a construction site. We also aim to arrange a placement for a Level 2 plumbing trainee once we start mechanical works on site.

By collaborating with local organisations like Sutton District Training Centre, we continue to uphold our values of creating positive and lasting impacts in the communities where we work.
