Official Opening of Elizabeth Twining Almshouses by HRH The Duke of Gloucester

We were honoured to welcome HRH The Duke of Gloucester to St Mary’s Grove, Richmond, for the official opening of our newly completed Elizabeth Twining almshouses for Richmond Charities.

His Royal Highness unveiled a commemorative plaque to mark this special occasion, celebrating the culmination of our project to provide much-needed housing for the local community.

The event was attended by trustees, residents, supporters, and members of the local community, who gathered to witness this historic moment. The Duke of Gloucester, known for his longstanding commitment to architecture and heritage, took the time to meet with residents and hear about the impact of the almshouses in their lives.

These new homes reflect our ongoing dedication to preserving the almshouse tradition while ensuring modern, comfortable, and sustainable living spaces for those in need. We are incredibly grateful to all who contributed to making this project a reality.

This Passivhaus project refects our commitment to sustainable building and marks a key step forward for Buxton in embedding sustainability across our work. It also reinforces our dedication to surpassing benchmarks with ultra-low energy buildings that deliver exceptional comfort and air quality.
