Buxton Building Contractors were delighted to attend Notre Dame School this week for the grand opening of their new multimillion-pound investment: The ND Innovation Space. This inspiring, state-of-the-art
building sits at the centre of the Senior School and is designed to enhance the School’s focus on STEM provision within its dynamic curriculum.
Students will design rockets with advanced CAD software, build robots using laser cutters, and produce podcasts and films with the latest green-screen technology. It ensures that cutting-edge tools are available to all, across the whole curriculum, not just restricted to specialist subjects.
The grand opening took place within the Innovation Space at Notre Dame School. Guests including staff, alumnae and parents were welcomed by the Senior School Headmistress and the Chair of Governors, alongside Buxton as the main contractor and other members of the project team who made this impressive space possible.
We are delighted to see our vision of STEM at the core of our curriculum realised through the launch of this impressive space. At Notre Dame, we have the highest aspirations for our students. Our girls need to be equipped with the skills to innovate, think creatively, and harness the power of technology and computing, no matter what career path they choose.” Mrs Anna King, Senior School Headmistress
