Building Tomorrow: Ben Pendrigh's Ambitious Journey with Buxton

Ben Pendrigh is currently an Assistant Quantity Surveyor at Buxton. Five years ago, he embarked on his apprenticeship journey in quantity surveying. Initially, he spent the first two years obtaining his HNC at East Surrey College, followed by three years at Kingston University, where he recently earned a first-class honours degree.

Parallel with his studies, Ben has been working full-time as a quantity surveyor, gaining firsthand experience with the diverse roles and responsibilities that a Quantity Surveyor must manage. Throughout this experience, he has been involved in a wide range of projects, including schools, rehabilitation centres, churches, lidos, offices, and other commercial and residential projects. Each project presented its own unique challenges and opportunities, allowing him to continually refine his skills.

Combining studying with the workplace greatly complemented each other, with the university providing theoretical knowledge that enhanced his day-to-day work activities, while his work experience offered practical knowledge that was invaluable for his assignments and exams.

Ben greatly appreciates the opportunity Buxton has provided him, and now looks forward to taking on the next challenges in his career, taking on greater responsibility together with working towards obtaining his chartered status with the RICS
