A recent site visit for our office-based team to two of our London construction projects provided a valuable and eye-opening experience, bridging the gap between the roles and the on-ground realities of our projects. The first site, St Paul’s Cathedral School is where we are enhancing both staff and student living spaces, providing improved facilities throughout the school. We had the bonus of a trip into the Cathedral itself as well.
The second stop took us to Grosvenor Gardens, near London Victoria where we are refurbishing two Grade II listed terraces. The project includes both interior and exterior renovations, to establish a modern office setting. This involves facade repairs, new windows and repairs, a complete M&E fit-out, specialist joinery and doors, fibrous plastering, a new ornate feature staircase, wood block flooring and lifts. The building, originating from 1868 showcases French Renaissance architecture. Originally apartments, it features an impressive facade, Corinthian porches, and a unique slate mansard roof.
The visits proved both informative and energising, giving our office-based team a renewed sense of purpose by connecting them with the tangible impact of their work. The experience was not only educational but also inspiring, offering fresh perspective on the end goals of daily tasks and strengthening commitment to our shared objectives.
With these insights, we are enhancing communication and support for our site teams, promoting smoother workflows and actively contributing to the successful delivery of each project.
